February was a month of getting to know each other. Angie and I communicated pretty well using e-mail as our preferred method. We started off February working on the Community-Based Learning/Service Learning assignment. We each did a case study and then chose another part of the paper to complete (Beranda did the intro, while Angie did the discussion). It seems as though we are doing well with "sharing the load" when it comes to the assignments. Since Angie did a monthly summary for January, I took on doing our February monthly summary. I did overlook submitting our Community-Based Learning/Service Learning assignment to Blackboard, but thanks to Angie and Bo I corrected this mistake!
We did lose a member of our group this month due to some personal problems, but we are wishing her the best!
For March, Angie and I are looking forward to completing the next two assignments. For the first, Community Education Programs, we have already decided what town to focus on. As for the second project due in March, Community Partnership, we will start working on it as soon as we are finished with the first.
I am looking forward to another month of great communication in Group 4!

Great job everyone. Losing a member is rough, but you seem to be handling it with grace. I look forward to reading your next submission.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your summary. Doing group work online can have its own set of challenges, but it sounds as if you have a great plan to deal with them. I also liked the way you divided up the work on your projects, and the way you have continued to work through the different aspects of group assignments. You have a good approach! Great work!

I am glad things have gone well for your group. I think having a partner to work with is great and the limitation of having only two allows you to communicate easily. Sounds like you all stay on top of it-which is half the battle. I look forward to you next project. enjoy Spring Break!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have done a great job sharing the workload and being fair on all of your assignments. You also appear to have really worked out the group communication portion, which I think can often be one of the most difficult parts especially when working online. Well done and thanks for sharing!

Losing a member of a group is difficult, especially after you start to feel a rhythm going and the ease of the class is starting to set in. One characteristic of an effective group is being able to rebound after such events occur. It sounds like you all had a plan of action and worked together to keep it going!

Sounds like you're on a roll and ready to tackle the next project. I'm sorry you lost a member of your group, but it sounds like you're picking yourselves up and carrying on. I hope the remainder of the semester went well for you all.
